COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONs
Ecumenical Consortium
Each of us is involved in discrimination every day. Whether it is direct or indirect, intentional, or unintentional, conscious or unconscious, we are all accountable for the conduct of our collective society and have a responsibility over our own actions and the protection of each other’s basic rights. With this as our motivator, Holy Trinity began the Community Conversations project in 2017. Since that time, Holy Trinity has formed an ecumenical partnership, Community Conversations Ecumenical Consortium, with Holy Trinity coordinating the efforts of several churches from a variety of denominations. The basic responsibilities for all partners and supporters involve marketing, promoting this program through their respective communications vehicles, and encouraging their various networks to attend sessions.
Forums like those held by Community Conversations Ecumenical Consortium are not only what remind us of that truth but are also what empower us to act. Attendees are inspired to do what they feel comfortable with, whether it’s protesting, voting, or simply being kind.
Each participant is encouraged to feel the potential of their own voice to create the transformation they perceive. “The best way to predict the future is to create it,” Abraham Lincoln said. The mantra for this project is, “We will be the change.”
Members of the consortium include: Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Paul Episcopal Church, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, St. Paul, Hamline Church United Methodist, and Luther Seminary.
